If you want texting and picture quality, I'd say go with the LG Voyager. Its a touch screen phone on the front, and if you flip it open, it has a full keyboard for your use.

im looking for a good verizon texting phone and a phone that has good picture quality i was wondering what phone(s) you reccomend i dont think im ready for a smart phone though other than a palm centrino

I'm not sure if there's a way to do it on the phone, but if you use the open-source BitPim app on a Bluetooth capable computer in conjunction with the Decoy (or any other Bluetooth capable phone for that matter), you can make most types of sound files into ringtones.
