In most cases, camcorders that can use external microphones will have an external microphone port on the camcorder.The TV out port will not work. And I don't know of any camcorder where the av in port can be used as an external microphone port.

Can an external microphone be plugged into the TV Out or AV In put on a camcorder? Sorry I am new at this. And would I be able to use the Azden ECZ 990 for one of those ports?Thanks.
