Well its 60$ for replacing the blade after you tested it out. But what does the whole thing cost if you buy it in the DIY shop?That's the crutial point. If it costs double as much as a saw without the system only private ppl. may buy it.

no it has to beable to conduct enough electricity for the sawstop to notice. the wood being wet wouldnt do anything

What happens if the wood is damp or wet. I would imagine there is situation that might shut the saw down. Is there an Override?Awesome Invention either way!
