Haha i saw this guy at a shitty pub in leeds years ago, Carpe Diem.Never herd of him before an when he started playing the whole pub stopped and watched...It was amazing!Legend!!!

Ive met Jon Gomm, he did a guitar workshop in Barnsley College and the thing on the back of his guitar is a sponge wrapped in duck tape. All it does is keep the guitar slightly away from his body

No, i've spoken with a guy who's done sound for him. Apparently the thing strapped onto the back is actually a mic or two and there is a hole cut into the back of the guitar. which explains why his tapping is able to be so clear. Seen him play a few times, gets better everytime.
