Wow, way to represent British as being incredibly ignorant.

I'm just amazed by the new record of 7:22.4, shit is only 0.3 miliseconds slower than the viper acr (not a very comfortable car). LOVE THE VETTE

Everyone here is missing the point. This video is simply beautiful. I am hoping to one day drive at the ring with my GTO 04. Jim Mero has illustrated what DRIVING is all about. So quiet arguing about towing capacity and enjoy through driving.

Correction: in reply to 304teddy about pushrod motors, I meant to say that the 5.9 durango and 5.3 Rainier only have 10 and 15 more horsepower respectively, but usable towing power is dramatic. thanks

Just a thought. I just watched the GTR run the 7.29 at the ring. Yes it's an impresive car, and working for Toyota as an engineer, I'm a di-hard proponent to their quality, engineering etc. But after watching the ZR1, the awd GTR with paddle shifters, just seems too playstation like. Didn't require the finess and the heel-toe art that I'm sure was going on in the vette. For me, a rwd manual is simplistically beautifull.

reply to 304teddy. You make a valid point in regards to pushrod motors. The big three have all made a huge mistake in the past 10 years. So many suv's use ohc smaller displacement engines, which are far less effective for towing as a result of less torque or displacement. A couple that I have had direct experience, 4.7 durango vs. 5.9 durango. And Buick Ranier, straight 6 vs. 5.3. Both examples only have 10 hp and 15hp respectively. Usable towing, no comparison in torque.

aha , it's probably got less bhp anyways..

It's taken the yanks since 1903 , to build 1 good car , and then there getting all big about it lol..Germany / england / italy / holland / japan..beat you to it atleast 50 years ago ;)

in many ways pushrods are better than ohc particularly cause they are lighter and more compact than an ohc design. the LS7 makes 505nahp and weighs a mere 426lbs.
