Wiener Sängerknaben Pergolesi

Solisten Ferdinand und Ernst Jankowitsch(Zwillinge)/1956/Die Wiener Symphoniker/Dirigent: Friedrich Brenn/ Arie und Duett aus "Stabat Mater"/G.B. Pergolesi:1)"Quae moerebat", Arie Nr. 4 für Alt solo/Ernst Jankowitsch2. "Inflammatus",Arie (Duett) Nr. 11 für Sopran und Alt solo/Ferdinand und Ernst (14 Jahre alt !)/Digitalisierte Schallplatte/Kein einwandfreier Sound/War nicht zu erwarten !/No perfect sound/ Was not to be expected !Lyrics at http://www.boysoloist.com !============================= =======There are no images of the Jankowitsch twins on the album cover agreeable to WSK guest book....And here more information (Informationen)- (a friend of mine translated the German text by the recording cover):"Ferdinand and Ernst Jankowitsch were twins and were 14 in 1956. Ferdinand, the first high treble possesses a really angelic voice-tremble-free and pure. A truly heavenly sound, he effortlessly sings his high Cs.His twin brother Ernst is the second treble- actually a mezzo - who can actually also sing alto parts. His timbre is exactly the opposite of his brother´s. It has a somewhat keener, sensual und earthly character, often admired in women´s voices.Despite their aural diversity, their voices complement each other excellently in the intervals of the two-part harmonies". And now my translation of the further text: "On all tours the solo performances by the Jankowitsch brothers are the highlights of the evening. Because they stand with their 14 years just before their mutation, we captured these precious really typically Viennese boy voice phenomenons to the recording (Schallplatte) and therefore bewared for the afterworld". 1956 - 2008...:)Liebe Verantwortliche, wie Ihr seht, ist Euch die Bewahrung für die Nachwelt gelungen ! Alle WSK-Fans sind Euch überaus dankbar !Dear representatives, as You see, You were successfully ! All fans of Vienna Boys Choir now are overgratefully !

yes it is a killer. Its from a video game called hitman. Its really fun and crazy, yet peaceful.

wskfan (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
Sorry: What do you mean with "hitman" ?My dictionary: hitman = "Killer" ? and hitman-off: "treffende Nachahmung" or "überzeugende Darstellung"

No, due to the WSK regulation after the late 50s, which does not treat any soloists as "star", there is no information about boy soloist on the album. I got the info from a friend, former WSK member who was a member during the same period as Michael. I think (...not sure) Michael sits next to Domingo (one with eyeglasses) on cover of the album.

Thank You for this information. I have the album - cannot find it in the moment. But I guess, that there is no information about the boy soloists...(?).

Correction: the album with Domingo is not a Xmas album...its title is "Placido Domingo & Die Wiener Saengerknaben" (released by RCA in 1980)

Thank you very much for sharing as always. The slideshow is lovely! Ferdinand's second son, Andreas is now a quite active singer, and he was a WSK soloist like his father. You can see him singing "Purei Concinite"(like his father) in vid from Xmas concert in Boston 1986 here on Utube. Ferdinand's oldest son, Michael also was a splendid WSK soloist who co-stared with Domingo in a Xmas album. Michael sings "Ave Maria" in the album (very beautiful!)

See now the further informations above...:)The slideshow was not made by me, but professional... I will post more of the recording soon with the same slideshow, becausefor me the voices are important not the images...(?).
