This is exactly what im talking about, these guys are good but they need put me as lead vocals if they want to get to the next level. Man im positive i could get them a sick bigger fanbase. I agree with Fire. I was a huge Greenday fan. I think Dookie is one of the best albums ever made. I grew up on Greenday and listened to it constantly. It also turned me on to rock music when I was about 10. Up until that point I only listened to retarded rap because I thought it was "cool" and it was plastered all over MTV. Their newest album was way too political and I couldn't stand it. And they were always "big". They've been mainstream since 1994.

A band like Franz Ferdinand might be popular in the indie scene, but they are not super commercialized like Green Day. When I used to shop at Hot Topic (not anymore now), there was dozens and dozens of Green Day merchandise that I believe that they have sold out, in which it was during the time of the release of their album American Idiot. I am not a punk rock fan except that I like the two bands that I just mentioned earlier. Now, I listen to whatever rock/alternative band that sounds good.

Heaven forbid a band becomes commercially successful. I'm so sick of fans who lose interest in a band when they become popular, like Modest Mouse. Maybe they were sick of renting crappy houses and playing tiny bars.Any punk rock fan that is driven away by a band they like taking a political stance is clueless. Punk rock started as an act of political defiance with bands like Sex Pistols and the Clash.

They did, don't kid yourself. When American Idiot came out in September 2004, they were so commercialized with that album and some of the huge Green Day fans that I talked to was disenchanted with their new looks and styles as well as others. Many pre-American Idiot Green Day fans that I talked to believe that the political stance on their album have drove them away. As of right now, the only punk rock group that I like are The Living End and Germany's Die Toten Hosen (mostly popular in Germany)
