Hmmm...very interesting. When I used to make mine, I used green apple, kale, lemon, parsley, spinach and perhaps some green superfood powder. I personally did not feel the need for anything sweet in the smoothie. I also like making berry smoothies. Great video though, I would like to try your method sometime.

Another way to change the color is to put in part of a beet, that works great. This is perfect! We all need much more greens in our diet, I know I have only started to get enough greens this past year and it was due to making smoothies. I use a Vitamix blender and I have to say thank you for this great information!

You can make two days' worth. It will lose some nutrient value but it's still great the next day. By the third day, YUCK. (You can freeze green smoothies and thaw the day you want to drink them, though.)

Sorry about the loud blender. Hopefully you like my professional NEW videos. This was the first one and it was literally just an idea Todd hatched at the gym, and we did it after working out one day, with his home camcorder.

It's a quart for me and a pint for each of my 4 kids--a 1-day supply. My pitcher of smoothie costs about $8 if you're smart about how you buy. Get bags of mixed frozen berries and fresh pears and bananas at Costco. Freeze seasonal fruit on sale in baggies. Find inexpensive places to buy greens. (My book teaches you about growing and freezing them.) Incorporate stops at those stores into your weekly routine to minimize smoothie costs.

Hello in this blender the smoothie u just made. Is that breakfast and 2 snacks for one person. How would uportion control it into your diet , or for someone who is making it basically half of a healthy diet. And I see alot of people sayin drink immediately. Would it go bador lose nutrients if I save the remainder for an afternoon snack b4 dinner. Any one with info on this subject can answer this

That like a $20 smoothie LOL.Honey dates and bananas are a great way to sweeten but if you are rich this one looks awesome. Also maybe a warning about turning down the speakers or edit the vid sound that blender is so loud! LOL

Initially, I was taking about 1/8 of a honeydew melon or cantaloupe and cutting it up and processing it with 1 orange into juice in my Vitamix and then adding 2 cups of frozen mixed fruit (bananas, grapes, strawberries, etc.) to make smoothies, then I started slipping in 1 carrot and 1/4 to 1/2 cup of spinach in to my smoothies. It tastes great. Smoothies are a great way to get my husband to eat veggies.

thats hardcore...good advise at the end add greens to fruit and then once you get used to it add more greens. I like to add mint/lemon/honey as the familiar flavours ease it down....i am just starting out and my first one was kale, spinach and watercress and i nearly chundered
