I see StuporMundi that you are an apologist for von Karavan and clearly refuse to accept the obvious i.e. he went on far too long and should have retired years earlier. Doubtless you also are one of those people who seek to defend his membership of the Nazi Party.

Simply amazing... GREAT & Immortal :-)so emotional.. thrills so deeply... This whole orchestra.. heavenly sounding instruments "talking"& "loving" with each other - ehh.. Karajan was from another world surely ;-)Thanks a lot for posting this!

Yeah. He looks a lot like Bernstein at the beginning and they have the same white hair and the same great conducting skills.

He wasnt too active. He was one of the many people who thought that they couldnt be the only one were right. Anyway, Karajan ran away from the Nazis and Germany, at some point, I think...I really respect him. I don't think he had the same beliefs as Hitler. Its basically making a wrong choice because everyone makes it. It was a mistake, but I don't think we can condemn him as a Nazi for that.

I did't know Karajan was a nazi active member. well, too bad. but his talent was great. I admire him.
