still, remembering from my old chemistry classes, didn't Mendeleev predict the existence of all elements that weren't even found yet, when he discovered the concept of the periodic table?So without the mine, the periodic table would still be complete, only some elements would be unaccounted for. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
