if you're on vista, go to organize>folder and search options and make sure "hide the extensions of known file types" is unchecked. then right click the file and click rename. then change the m4a to m4r

hey, i have vista and i did everything right, the itunes knows that there is a ringtone and the iphone can see it in the syncing process, but i cant find the ringtune in settings/sounds/ringtone. any help?

Using Windows XP..how do i change the file from m4a to m4r ... it just adds ".p4r" after the name...not the extension?!?!?

Followed your directions step-by-step. It's not showing up in the Ringtones tab. It's 30 seconds, m4r, but it's just not in the tab. Tried converting it to AAC afterwards, but it says it could not find the file. o_OAny help?
